Compass Coach Policies
Driver Accommodations
When booking hotel rooms for your group, please also reserve a room for the driver. Customers will be responsible for payment unless other arrangements have been made.
Damage Deposits
In certain cases, a damage deposit of $200 may be requested. The deposit will be returned following a satisfactory post-trip inspection of the coach.
** Compass Coach reserves the right to terminate a trip at any time due to unlawful, destructive, and/or unruly behavior.
Video/Music System
Compass Coaches motorcoaches are equipped with latest video and music systems; however, company policy and U.S. copyright laws prohibit Compass Coach from providing movies to passengers. Each group should have one responsible party per coach in charge of movies shown on the coach. Compass Coach is in no way responsible for movie content and should not be expected to make decisions regarding movie content, etc. Compass Coach does subscribe to both the BMI and ASC Music service which allows us to play our music or your music aboard the coaches.
Food and Beverage
Snacks and bottle drinks with screw-on caps are permissible provided trash receptacles made available by Compass Coach are utilized. Glass bottles, large coolers and dairy products are strictly prohibited. Compass Coach reserves the right to revoke this privilege at any time during the course of the trip.
Smoking
Federal law and company policy strictly prohibit smoking on motorcoaches.
Mechanical Problems
We use only certified mechanics and all buses are inspected before and after each and every trip. And although our fleet is all late-model coaches, mechanical problems still occur. In the event of a road failure, your coach operator is to contact the dispatcher on duty immediately with a full description of the problem. If the problem cannot be quickly solved, a replacement bus is dispatched from our garage or from an affiliate garage. Our affiliates are either other bus companies throughout the United States or members of the United Motor Coach Association. It is our ultimate goal to have a replacement bus en route to the group within 2 hours. Compass Coach is a proud member of the United Motor Coach Association.
STUDENT - YOUTH ORGANIZATION AGREEMENT
We want your group to have a great time and are pleased to present our new motorcoach equipment for your student group. While normal wear will occur, we ask for your support in keeping our luxury coaches in superb condition. By signing this charter contract, the chartering organization agrees to the following:
1. Position at least one adult chaperone within the back six rows of the coach (coach has 13 rows of seats), thus, being able to have "Quality Guidance" in the back part of the coach where most vandalism and misconduct occur.
2. Use the same rules of conduct as used in the classrooms, i.e. no climbing or standing on seats, maintaining conduct that would not effect the driver’s ability to safely operate the motorcoach.
3. Encourage participants to use the waste containers located in the back and front of the coach.
4. The chartering party (organization) will reimburse Compass Coach Inc. for any damage to the equipment caused by the chartering party.
HOURS OF SERVICE
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has restrictions on how long a driver can operate a commercial vehicle. The "Hours of Service" rules are sensible guidelines for safe operation of the vehicle. The rule has three components:
10 Hour Rule:
A driver cannot driver more than 10 hours following eight (8) consecutive hours off-duty (adverse conditions and emergency situations are exceptions).
15 Hour Rule:
After 15 hours on-duty* (driving and on-duty not driving) a driver cannot continue driving until eight (8) consecutive hours off-duty are taken.
70 Hour Rule:
On-duty time cannot exceed 70 hours for any period of eight (8) consecutive days.
*On-duty not driving includes time for pre-trip inspecting, meal times and delays.
Compass Coach, Inc. is committed to your safety and we follow the hours of service rules issued by the Department of Transportation.
